Manager of Infection Prevention and Control

This is a Full-time position in Yuma, AZ posted August 4, 2021.

The Manager of Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C) has accountability for the overall Infection Prevention program for YRMC and the 18+ outpatient settings affiliated with the system.

The Manager of IP&C creates and oversees a system for identifying, reporting, investigating and controlling infections and communicable diseases of patients, visitors and personnel.

While functioning within their scope of practice, the Manager of IP&C effectively and efficiently utilizes self motivating, organizational, detail focused, and data analytical skills to perform infection prevention surveillance activities at YRMC and assist the healthcare team regarding proper care of infected patients including isolation procedures.

The Manager of IP&C will coordinate with Employee Heath regarding programs for influenza vaccination and tuberculosis screening.

The Manager of IP&C utilizes excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills to enhance, grow and sustain an effective Infection Prevention and Control program focused on reducing the burden of hospital-acquired infections and prioritizing goals based on regular risk assessment.

Current standards and literature are reviewed and practiced to reduce costs at no increased risk to patients and clients.

Posting Department Quality Services Area of Interest Management Start Date Immediately Work Week 40 Daily Hours 8 Bi-Weekly Hours 80 External Education Education Required:Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Medical Technology, or related field.

CIC (Certified Infection Control).Education Preferred:Master Degree of Public Health (MPH) or related field with CIC (Certified Infection Control).

External Experience Experience Required:4 years of experience in infection prevention.

Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment).Experience Preferred:5+ years infection prevention and epidemiology experience in an acute care hospital.

Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems.
