Manager, Content Strategy


This is a Full-time position in Phoenix, AZ posted July 11, 2021.

From crafting content strategy that helps achieve business goals to developing and optimizing content of all kinds, we don’t just create amazing content, we make sure it’s useful and findable. The Manager of Content Strategy reports to the VP of Marketing.

As both a leader and an individual contributor, the Manager of Content Strategy is responsible for the management and mentorship of the content team and for the execution of best-in-class content strategy to help clients achieve their goals.

The successful Tallwave Manager of Content Strategy candidate:

Additionally, the Manager of Content Strategy candidate should be able to:
Ensure all content is on-message and on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search.

Define a content strategy for clients and comprehensive roadmap that addresses the information needs of multiple personas across the buyer’s journey.

Work with cross-functional partners to develop new personas and conduct workshops determining the buyer’s journey for clients.

Work closely with departmental leaders on the pursuit of new business opportunities, including proposal development, SOW development, work estimation, and pitching Tallwave’s content point of view.

Identify opportunities for cross-selling and content expansion opportunities with new and existing clients.

Manage and allocate content team resources; work closely with internal subject matter experts; and identify and manage external writers as needed.

Create compelling content to support a variety of marketing initiatives, including performance marketing, product/website launches and thought leadership.

Establish workflows and best practices for creating, editing, publishing, optimization and retiring content.

Measure content effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improving the efficacy of content marketing.

Keep the broader Integrated Marketing team up-to-date with the latest trends in content marketing.

Drive continued results for our clients to aid in optimal visibility across search engines.

Demonstrate a depth of knowledge of SEO best practices, understanding how they impact content effectiveness.

Reporting on key findings during research and the ability to interpret analytics data and communicate succinct problems and solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.

Required experience and skills:
10 years of content marketing experience Evidence of effective management skills Superb writing and editing skills; experience creating content for multiple personas (submission of writing portfolio/work samples required) Demonstrated knowledge of audience research and measurement tools Experience in applying audience data analysis in decision making Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail Proven ability to research, execute and report on various SEO/Content related projects Experience in balancing leadership in a collaborative environment Basic MS Office/G Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.

HS diploma or equivalent required Prior experience with and knowledge of brand strategy is preferred, but not required
