Description

The Sales Operations Manager (SOM) manages daily administrative activities as they pertain to the sales department. The SOM will oversee the workflow of all business processing including preparation of reports, charts, and other statistics to support and direct the sales department. The SOM will initiate and track orders to completion as well as assist with budget management to ensure expenses meet target goals. The SOM will help with the communication and management of the distributor group by being their first point of contact for questions as well as tracking their commissions and ensuring salespersons are on track with their sales goals.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 3-5 Direct Junior Sales Reprepresentatives including daily assignments, feedback, training on sales strategies and techniqes, quota tracking, as well as determinations on hiring and terminations.
  • Communicate daily (or as necessary) with distributors and direct sales team for feedback and follow up.
  • Manage distributor contracts and report monthly, quarterly, and annual progress to the VP of Sales; ensuring proper follow up and documentation is done according to distributor agreements.
  • Plan all distributor trainings (whether onsite or virtual) and ensure that their onboarding and annual trainings and compliance are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide presale assistance to sales reps; this may include approving negotiation tactics, creation of quotes, collecting signed documents, following up with clients on paperwork or payment, or other tasks as requested by VP of Sales.
  • Help VP of Sales run forecast reports, send distributor communications, create quarterly board meeting summaries, and assist with departmental budget planning.
  • Maintain and organize the distributor and sales folders with the most up to date forms and information for our sales teams and products.
  • Develop standard presentations and sales support materials.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to develop collateral, outbound marketing efforts, and website updates.
  • Lead the management of distributor requests of demo supplies, demo equipment, and marketing materials by filling out and filing appropriate forms.
  • Work closely with the CFO to analyze and report sales commissions for the distribution and direct sales staff.
  • Maintain current list of contact information for our distribution network.
  • Other activities as assigned by VP of Sales.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Communications or a related field is preferred although commensurate experience may satisfy this requirement
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience of increasing responsibility in a sales-type environment
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Aesthetics, medical, or sales industry experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with Sales Force and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
