n n nn n n Responsibilities for this Position n n nn General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a passionate, experienced Business Development Director (BDD) within the Cyber Systems business, which includes a wide variety of data protection programs and products.

The BDD will lead a subset of business development activities for Cyber Systems at General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), including cultivating key U.S Government and prime contractor relationships, developing and leading capture teams for new programs and business ventures, and working as a key part of a team to develop long range strategic plans.

nn nn GDMS Cyber Systems is a leading provider of data protection products including encryption, cross domain (CDS), and multilevel security (MLS) for many years.

This position will focus on growth on these areas to win new production programs and integrating our product offerings into programs of record (PoR), both directly with the Government and with large prime contractors.

nn nn Key Responsibilities: nn nn The position will drive growing our market share within the data protection market.

The candidate will work with customers and industry partners and draw upon the broader capabilities of General Dynamics (GD) to be successful.

Knowledge of encryption, CDS, or MLS technologies and government, academic, and industry participants in the evolving defense and markets is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will also have demonstrated ability to work both independently and within highly motivated teams.

Previous demonstrated experience in business development, including bid and capture strategies, is strongly desired.

nn nn Proven, relevant and current industry business experience or operational and/or business experience with Air Force, Army, Navy, and IC is preferred.

Experience with both government acquisition and product placement within large PoRs is desired.

This job is both strategic and tactical, and requires substantial leadership in opportunity capture and business strategy/vision as well as an ability to work independently.

nn nn Additional Responsibilities: nn Leads business development activities of products and/or services to government agencies or private firms doing government business Advises the Business Area Director (P&L) on growth strategies and management of resources for future program procurements Maintains key business development contacts with current and potential customers Identifies and recommends new business opportunities and wins new business to meet the established business growth goals Evaluates and manages new business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs Defines vision, strategies, and tactics for business development opportunities Advises higher management on status or action required in connection with existing and potential business development opportunities Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives Leads and manages the capture process for specific opportunities within data protection market Performs administrative, analytical and research activities in support of the business development and acquisition, strategic planning, proposal development and marketing functions Assists in gathering data on competitors and analyzes their prices, sales and methods of operation Analyzes and researches customer information, product/service preferences, market size, penetration, marketing practices and trends Follows industry trends to ensure GDMS’ offerings are cost competitive and superior to industry leading capabilities and best practices Participates in promotional activities and trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, and production managers, to market products and services Over 40% travel with ability to conduct business independently and professionally throughout market The position will be located in Fair Lakes, VA, Scottsdale, AZ, or Dedham, MA.
