From a centralized command center location in Tacoma, Washington, the incumbent works collaboratively with the telemedicine ICU and an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers to facilitate achievement of clinical objectives, quality/customer service standards and improvement of patient care outcomes.

The duties are conducted in accordance with organizational policies, applicable regulatory requirements and scope of practice for the nursing profession and is strongly focused on patient safety.

The responsibilities also include continuous contact with physicians, patients, patient families, community agencies, patient care staff and management.

This role is accountable for the quality of care provided to patients, and has the authority to direct care, provide education, seek resources at the unit/department level, and delegate appropriate tasks.Compassionate registered nurses with strong clinical skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently, are highly desired.

Incumbents must have strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively educate patients and their families on the in-home healthcare process.When you join our team you will:Provide virtual nursing care from a high tech business settingCollaborate with other healthcare professionals serving the highest acuity patients with our systemPromote achievement of clinical objectives, uphold quality and customer service standards and improve patient carePromote faster healing, reduce ICU length of stay and mortalityCollaborate with patients, families to optimize their careMonitor patients care using EPIC monitor and video applicationsProvide education and guidance to bedside and clinical staffEssential Job Functions:Monitors assigned patients from a command center remote location via live streaming video equipment; makes ongoing assessments with respect to physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs; communicates with members of the Tele-ICU Center team across all locations and the bedside ICU or other inpatient care interdisciplinary team(s) in a collegial manner to provide safe and error-free care during routine and emergent conditions.

Initiates and/or implements appropriate patient interventions as necessary to respond to routine, urgent and emergent patient issues; assesses and evaluates results to facilitate positive outcomes.

Monitors and evaluates team performance to ensure the quality of care provided is consistent with the CHI-FH standards, documentation procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

Documents care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process in accordance with CHI-FH standards of care, including changes in patient condition, patient responses to intervention and reassessments of pertinent findings.

Provides health care education and guidance to healthcare providers, patient and/or families; educates regarding results, findings and diagnoses to patient and/or patient’s family within scope of practice.Keeps abreast of trends, developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.

Qualifications: Job Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare-related discipline, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and three years of related work experience that demonstrates the attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills and abilities.

An equivalent combination of additional qualifying work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement (Associate’s degree in Nursing required).

Work experience in an intensive care unit setting is required.License/Certification:Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.If classified as RN-Tele-ICU Cert: Current Critical Care RN (CCRN) and/or Neuroscience RN (CNRN) certification is required.

Current Healthcare provider BLS Certification.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) at, or within six months, of date of hire into the position.
