Please complete each section and answer all questions as thoroughly as possible.DO NOT state "See resume" in lieu of answering.Unanswered questions, incomplete responses, omissions, or partial information may result in disqualification from the selection process.About the PositionThe Stormwater Engineer performs professional level engineering and planning duties for storm water, drainage, and other City infrastructure projects in Storm Water Management within the Planning and Economic Development Division.

This position will be primarily responsible for the review of single family plans and the review of projects that are similar in nature.

This is a temporary position with partial benefits.Selection Process:Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview and an assessment exercise.

Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:* Fingerprinting* Criminal Background check for the past 7 yearsThis opening has been extended through February 24, 2021.The City of Scottsdale reserves the right to change this process at any time.Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience* Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited educationalinstitution, or equivalent years of education and experience.* Four years of progressively responsible project coordination experience in storm water, drainage, and hydraulics/hydrology.* An equivalent combination of education and job related experience may substitute for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements* Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, OR by the technical boardof another state with the ability to obtain Arizona Registration through reciprocity within 6 months of employment.Essential FunctionsPerforms duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:* Reviews complex storm water management systems for proposed new development.* Addresses drainage complaints.* Performs technical review of hydrologic models such as HEC-1.* Performs technical review of hydraulic models such as HEC-RAS* Serves as a point of contact for storm water and drainage issues throughout the City.* Coordinates with other City staff to resolve technical and complex project issues.Work Environment/Physical DemandsThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position or that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
