Job Responsibilities:
– Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care in malignant hematology and stem cell transplantation.
– Adhere to infection control policies and maintain patient privacy and dignity.
– Communicate effectively with peers and assist in onboarding new stakeholders.
– Delegate tasks according to the Nurse Practice Act and job descriptions.
– Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers in various patient care areas.
– Provide critical staffing to the Cellular Therapy Inpatient Unit and Specialty Clinic.
– Administer cellular therapy products and high-dose chemotherapy safely.
– Monitor and care for immunocompromised patients with complex needs.
– Conduct patient education and reinforce treatment plans and self-care responsibilities.
– Perform special procedures such as bone marrow biopsy or donor apheresis stem cell collection.
– Demonstrate competence in chemotherapy administration and cardiac monitoring.
– Assess and intervene in life-threatening situations and care for patients with IV lines, central lines, and ports.
Bilingual
Job Qualifications:
– 5 years of experience in Cellular Therapy (Stem Cell Transplant and/or Immune Effector Cell) or deemed qualified by Cellular Therapy Leadership.
– Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
– Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License from a Compact State.
– Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
– Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certificate (preferred upon hire, required before nursing orientation, with renewal every two years).
– Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation course within 30 days of hire (exempt with proof of previous ONS equivalent course or Blood & Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse certification).
