n nQualifications: Proficient in On Shift Scheduling Software.

n n GENERAL DESCRIPTION: nnResponsible for scheduling all nursing staff by utilizing a computer based program.

Work cooperatively with licensed staff and certified nursing assistants along with other staff to ensure proper staff coverage on a daily basis.

nn ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: Oversees schedules on an ongoing basis, identifies needs and schedules staff accordingly.

Maintains all nursing department schedules, daily modification to include but not limited to attendance, switch shifts, and time-off requests.

Staff each unit according to established staffing matrix, productivity needs, and census.

Responsible for the oversight of staffing and scheduling to decrease the use of overtime.

Request Smart-Chart passwords for all new employees prior to first day of employment.

Updates On-Shift as necessary throughout the day to ensure accuracy for both staff and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADONs).

Responsible for training staff on On-Shift utilization and verify nursing staff contact information are updated on On-Shift.

Responsible for daily verification of all nursing staff hours worked and submit changes to Payroll Coordinator for correction.

Records employee attendance, communicates with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADONs), when issues arise.

Communicates employee time-off requests, sick calls, vacations, switched shifts, with Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADONs).

Effectively communicates routine and critical staffing and scheduling challenges and requests to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADONs), and Charge Nurses.

Responsible for ensuring certified nursing assistant staff scheduled for floor training by communicating with charge nurse(s) for the unit, certified nursing assistant, and trainer prior the first day of floor training.

Responsible for notification reminders for General Orientation and MANDT training.

Ensure shift coverage for staff attending General Orientation and MANDT training Provide HR with extensions granted to attend Gen-O and MANDT.

Responsible for removing staff from schedule if out of compliant.

Responsible for notifying staff when removed from schedule.

Conduct interviews as needed.

Communicate current openings to Lead C.N.A.s prior to interview.

Update nursing staffing schedule on W-Drive daily or as changes occur.

Responsible for communicating all status change requests after weekly staffing meeting to nursing staff and notify HR/Payroll of the effective date of status changes.

Partner with facility Director of Education to ensure adequate staff coverage on the unit for all mandatory trainings/ meetings and notify all nursing staff of the training(s).

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES: High school diploma or equivalent GED required.

Minimum two (2) years staffing experience in a healthcare setting required.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to problem-solve/follow through necessary.

Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and timely.

Must have good customer service skills.

Ability to function independently and demonstrate initiative.

Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
