Snowsports Administrator

Taos Ski Valley, Inc.

This is a Contract position in Phoenix, AZ posted August 5, 2022.

Works as member of an interdependent team dedicated to providing support to managers, supervisors and staff through daily payroll entry and other administrative duties. Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and ensure completion of all Snowsports administrative actions. Including Human Resource actions, communications, procedures, systems, and processes
  • Responsible for entering and editing daily hours for Snowsports School
  • Work closely with Human Resources
  • Be visible and available to instructors and staff to efficiently and diplomatically address human resources concerns, any timekeeping or scheduling issues
  • Manage timekeeping records
  • Assist with snowsports staff onboarding and training
  • Provide support to supervisors as needed
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Manage and adjust staff schedules with supervisor approval
  • Communicate clearly with all departments
  • Enroll and maintain staff profiles in ski school management system
  • Assist with uniform and locker distribution
  • At times may be solely responsible for the care and safety of children enrolled in the Rio Hondo Learning Center
  • Assist with daily operations as needed
  • Anticipate and assist with reporting for daily operational functions, to provide accounting information and to accomplish business goals.
  • Enforce Taos Ski Valley and Snowsports policies and procedures
  • Independently develop and drive ideas, projects, and business opportunities that are forward thinking and industry reaching
  • Assist Director, Managers and Supervisors in maintaining an effective and professional office environment.
  • Participation with the team for the success of the Guest, Instructor, Snowsports School and Area
  • Develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all TSV (Taos Ski Valley) departments
  • Cooperates with all area employees and co-workers in the performance of duties
  • During busy periods, a 6-day work week may be required as well as some evenings
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 3-5 years in ski area, resort, or hospitality operations
  • Must demonstrate excellent computer skills and willingness to expand computer-based knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in a meticulous and thorough manner
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Experience in creating training and its implementation
  • Experience with data collection and usage
  • Analytical thinker
  • Capable of learning and understanding Snowsports and Resort procedures, systems, and operations
  • Skilled in being able to effectively communicate suggestions for improvements

Work Environment:

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

  • Must be able to sit or stand at a desk for up to 8 hours a day
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to bend and move from standing to squat and kneel positions several times throughout the day
  • Must be able to walk up and down two flights of stairs several times per shift; must be agile, sure-footed, and cautious on slippery surfaces
