SALARY:

$ 15.27 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
GED or equivalent.

Positive customer service skills.

Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse user base consisting of faculty, staff, and students.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and to provide clear and useful documentation of work performed.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress, complex environment.

Awareness of risk and cyber security.

Experience using Windows and/or Macintosh desktops in an academic setting.

Preferred:
Prior technology experience.

Work Schedule:
Part-time, up to 19.5 hours per week.

Evening, weekend, and possible holiday hours.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Works proactively under direct supervision of the Technology Coordinator to support the faculty, students, and staff at Arizona Western College as well as members of the public and our university partners, and to enhance businesses processes by supporting end-user computing.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Serves students.

Will help install, configure, manage, and maintain operating system and application software (Windows and Macintosh) on all types of end user computing devices.

As experience is gained, may work independently and make appropriate decisions based on experience and research.

Troubleshoots login and other systems issues working alone and through active collaboration with Service Desk staff.

Actively engages in a process of continual professional development, encompassing hard technical skills and personal soft skills.

Will come to understand business processes, develop productive relationships with users and departments, and proactively seeks ways of providing added value to users.

Works with supervisor to proactively identify new opportunities to serve faculty, staff, and students and to modify operations to increase the efficiency and impact of business processes.

Proposes new ways of leveraging technology to support users and enhance business processes.

Accepts shared responsibility for technology and its use throughout the district.

seeks to develop a better understanding of technology solutions used throughout the district.

Works with supervisor to develop and implement well thought out plans through active communication and collaboration.

Represents users and acts as an advocate for users, their technology needs and concerns, and the impact that projects may have on them.

Provides input as a formal member of project teams as well as informally through communication and collaboration with other members of the IT Services & Support Division and through supervisory channels.
