Oncology Intensive Care Unit RN

As an Oncology Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse, you will provide exceptional care to adult and geriatric oncology patients. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing individualized care plans using the nursing process. You will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals and support persons. Additionally, you will mentor and guide other qualified patient care team members, ensuring enhanced outcomes through effective delegation and independent judgment.

Job Responsibilities:

– Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for medical/surgical, ambulatory care, and same-day surgery patients.

– Adhere to infection control policies, including hand hygiene, asepsis, isolation practices, and employee health guidelines.

– Effectively communicate with peers to resolve conflicts and assist in the on-boarding of new stakeholders.

– Protect the patient’s dignity, rights, and privacy while assessing the knowledge level of patients and their designated support persons.

– Delegate tasks according to the Arizona Nurse Practice Act and job descriptions.

– Accurately document nursing care, implants, and specimens.

– Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines as needed and maintain required competencies.

– Pursue professional growth and stay current with technology.

– Complete additional duties as assigned.


Bilingual
Qualifications:

– Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in the area.

– Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.

– Licensure: Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License from a Compact State.

– Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross. ACLS certification is also required within 30 days of hire and must be renewed every two years. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Card is required within 6 months of hire and must be renewed every two years.
