The Food Services Assistant supports the agency’s food service needs and is a key player in ensuring we are serving the best quality food to our guests in a behavioral health setting. Our cooks are responsible for the daily preparation of food items and station management. Duties include set-up, stocking and preparing food in accordance to Chef’s recipes and standards, ensuring cleanliness, proper safety procedures, and organizing kitchen, walk-in coolers and storage areas. Teamwork is essential and is what we’re all about at RI International.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Serves and prepares food in accordance with agency food safety requirements.* Oversees the kitchen environment and procedures, maintaining a clean environment and proper food handling techniques.* Follows Arizona food safety and handling requirements.* Works as a team member with supervisors, co-workers and participants.* Understands and adheres to RI International compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.* Performs other related duties as assigned.Job Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.* Working knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and necessary precautions.* Current Arizona Food Handlers Card required.* Must be a least 21 years of age.* Ability to pass a pre-placement physical required.* TB test clearance required.* Ability to work long hours.* High School Diploma or equivalent.* Minimum of six (6) months of food service experience.Physical Demands:May include continuous standing; walking; handling; finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination; use of corrected vision; depth perception; wide field of vision; color vision; use of auditory, olfactory and tactile senses. Frequent bending over; stooping; kneeling; crouching; pushing; pulling sitting; reaching; climbing/balancing on a step stool to reach supplies/equipment in cabinets; climbing stairs; carrying up to and lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.Work EnvironmentWorks in production area where some hazardous conditions may exist.
