Developmental Disabilities Specialist

This is a Full-time position in Tempe, AZ posted May 2, 2021.

Some things to know:

? DRBHS is working remotely right now so all training and services will be provided via zoom telehealth format. Our offices are closed out of an abundance of caution during the Covid-19 pandemic, and will remain that way until June 2021. Access to a computer is required.

? DRBHS is a contractor-based agency. All staff are independent contractors and salary is based on a percentage of billing brought in. You will be given a caseload and shown how to maximize the billing that you do with clients, while also providing high quality services to work on their developmental and behavioral needs.

? Schedule and salary are flexible and based on your own motivation and desire to work. We expect clients to be seen at least once a week for an hour, but how you schedule your clients is based on your own preferences and what works for the client and their family.

? DRBHS provides all state required trainings to contractors free of charge throughout the year but a valid first aid/CPR certification is required at the time of hire.

? DRBHS services the Gila River and Pascua Yaqui Indian Communities and driving to the community is required once our offices are reopened. A reliable vehicle is needed.

? You will also be required to acquire a separate work phone within the first 30 days to be used for coordinating client care and communicating with supervisor and team members.

Developmental Technician Job Description: Looking for quality, consistent, motivated contractors who wish to be long-term members of an awesome team. This position is for Developmental Specialist under our Dewdrops Developmental Program. The purpose of this position is to work with children and adults with developmental disabilities to provide one-on-one services to assist them to develop daily living skills, such as safety, social skills, communication, hygiene, gross and fine motor skills, etc.. This position requires expertise in child development, developmental disabilities, assessment, and community resources. Experience working with families in home and clinic settings is essential, and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder is a plus! The developmental specialist works with families with children birth to age 5, as well as older children, teens, and adults who have developmental needs. Services are provided in homes, schools, and in a clinic setting as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include: assist clients with developmental disabilities to strive for and achieve their individualized treatment goals related to developmental milestones, attend child and family team meetings, assist parents and guardians in understanding the child or adult’s developmental needs and in learning how to best assist their family member, participate in weekly supervision. Qualifications: Candidates must be 21 with current fingerprint clearance card, CPR, and first aid
