As the company’s second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities.

Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo’s risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline’s execution of its risk management responsibilities.

We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.
Functions supported may include: policy/procedure administration and adherence, systems/change initiatives, legal and regulatory adherence, SLA negotiation/development, reporting and analysis, process improvement, communications, and team member training development.
Consults with UDAAP Program management on strategic approach and effectiveness of support function, and business performance improvement opportunities for the UDAAP Program.

Presents to UDAAP Program and compliance management on the Program’s performance and recommends strategies to implement changes and improvements.

Influences others to drive performance and problem resolution as it relates to the specific function being supported.

Develops innovative solutions to a variety of highly complex and/or urgent issues.

Manages large bodies of work, with complex and shifting processes, deadlines and stakeholders Supports relationships with key stakeholders to identify and influence areas of focus for UDAAP compliance.

Provides effective and efficient programmatic support to the UDAAP Program Leader by managing special projects and ad-hoc assignments that ensure operational excellence of the UDAAP Program Manages the change management process on behalf of the UDAAP Program, along with maintenance of document repositories Interfaces with senior UDAAP Program Office leadership, collaborate with internal partners in preparation for external and internal audit/exam requests.

This position requires a high degree of compliance and UDAAP expertise, as well as extensive knowledge of banking and financial services.

Requires exceptional communication skills and will involve interaction with executive leaders, senior management, the Law Department, Internal Audit, and cross-functional teams to identify UDAAP risks and manage related issues.

Must have a high degree of operational skill to manage support for multiple assessments with challenging deadlines.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Other Desired Qualifications A BS/BA degree or higher Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills Experience successfully escalating complex issues and tracking follow-through to completion Experience communicating in both written and verbal formats with senior executive-level leaders Experience developing improvement processes and implementation strategies Leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Salary Information
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
