We are currently seeking a Finished Vehicle Claims Analyst.  This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong analytical background who will be responsible for processing and filing freight claims, analyzing cost trends, minimizing unnecessary costs, communicating with carriers and internal team members while supporting service level agreements and meeting key performance indicators.

You Will:

  • Lead claims resolution and partner with carriers to resolve claim issues.
  • Monitor carrier performance on claims by publishing metrics through a KPI dashboard.
  • Identify trends in loss/damage and propose solutions to resolve repeat claims issues.
  • Create weekly recaps on trends, root causes, and status updates with analysis to drive out inefficiencies, inaccurate data and unnecessary costs.
  • Review and help resolve reasons for short pays and other payment issues with customers. 
  • Analyze all freight bill corrections and report findings to improve processes to eliminate possible future corrections. 
  • Resolve freight claim adjustments for damaged shipments. 
  • Research and obtain supporting documentation and make a determination on the best course of resolution. 
  • File claims with carriers and ensure all claims are successfully resolved.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work closely with carriers, vendors, and other cross-functional teams to improve data quality and timeliness and develop and manage KPIs, SLA’s by utilizing technology, systems, and other teams to develop robust financial reporting and dashboards. 
  • Provide oversight of claims processes improving the freight payment cycle times for all carriers and vendors by driving quality improvement programs.
  • Identify and resolve systematic problems between the carriers, vendors, and freight payment companies to ensure timely and accurate invoice payment.
  • Develop and utilize Exception Management tools to identify problems and concerning trends before they can be of greater risk to the organization or its partnerships.
  • Monitor status of any past due carrier statements, outstanding claims request and any other financial related inquiries that gets escalated and support resolution of freight claims, 3rd party audit issues, credit memos, and other exceptions or discrepancies as needed.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are documented and create Process Maps and visual charts for more complicated activities and functions

You Bring:

  • 5+ Years of Demonstrated Experience with Freight Payment, Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable and claims processing.
  • 2+ years Reporting and Data Analysis experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and apply contract language.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • A strong curiosity and a resolute mindset toward continuous process improvement with the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational processes. 
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent field. 
  • A Master’s degree in one of these fields is preferred. 
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
