As the company’s second line of defense, Corporate Risk — or Independent Risk Management — provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo’s risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline’s execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the  Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Conduct Management is the company’s front line ethics and allegation management function, responsible for team member experience, end-to-end investigations, and enterprise platform management and reporting. We focus on team member feedback to drive operational excellence in our company’s ethics program to ensure that team members are protected and feel comfortable raising concerns.

The Conduct Operations team is responsible for critical operational aspects related to the management of potential cases of team member misconduct, including intake (EthicsLine), triage and research, capacity and forecasting, and case management.

The Role: Responsible for developing and running a business intelligence and monitoring process and team which will focus on leveraging data and post-allegation processes to coordinate optimization of the allegation management process through strong change management process routines. The candidate must have a strong vision to develop new program to centrally manage, optimize and decommission input channels into the allegation lifecycle. This includes referral email boxes, automated detection scenarios, and proactive monitoring and early warning detective scenarios. The program will require enterprise-wide knowledge to coordinate across enterprise teams.

The candidate will also be responsible for creating, managing and determining key risk metrics across all of conduct management (allegations, insider threat, ethics), running the centralized quality program for allegations, customer impact/customer harm and root cause analysis. Enhance and lead root cause analysis efforts of allegations.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following functional areas: business process, quality assurance, strategic planning, or project management
  • 8+ years of management experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience handling complex employee relations issues consistent with company protocol such as investigations related to alleged discrimination, harassment or retaliation
  • Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the allegation management program
  • Operational and management knowledge; lead team with subject matter (investigations/allegation) knowledge
  • Experience leading investigations teams
  • Experience creating executive senior leadership and board reporting
  • QA and QC operational and management knowledge
