Manufacturing Engineer Acme Aerospace, Inc.

is a leading manufacturer that designs and manufactures custom batteries and battery control electronic systems for military and commercial aircraft applications.

We are seeking a high energy individual with a desire to contribute and participate in continuous improvement and productivity projects.

Additionally, this person will perform manufacturing engineering duties such as: design and realization of production tools, technical oversight on machine procurement and repair, method sheet development and maintenance, time studies, production data analysis and concurrent engineering projects.KEY AREAS OF REPONSIBILITIES:Drive and assist with continuous improvement projects and productivity initiatives.

Identify cost savings and productivity opportunities.Develop new and established manufacturing processes to reduce scrap, improve throughput, improve safety, and improve product quality.Control manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering, regulatory and customer requirements.Some design and procurement of production tools that may include on-site fabrication.New equipment acquisition.Troubleshoot equipment issues; aid in repair if needed.Develop engineering drawings, technical graphs, work instructions and other documents of machines and tooling to be manufactured.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Education BS Industrial Engineering,2 6 years minimum experience in product engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent combination.Required Capabilities: Production process development and documentationEngineering drafting and production designContinuous improvement, and productivity/cost savingsDeploying productivity in a manufacturing environmentProject management LeadershipMechanical assembly and repairWillingness and ability to interface with all levels of the Organization.Capable of utilizing standard inspection instruments, tools, gauges, and multi-metersRequired Capabilities (Cont’d).Strong mechanical design inclination Proficient with mechanical software packages.

SolidWorks and PDM software proficiency required.Drafting proficiencyProficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft ExcelDesired Background and Experience Aerospace component production manufacturingAerospace battery and electronics experienceManual lathe and mill operationDirect experience with fabrication and assembly of controls, sensors, andElectro-mechanical devices.Understanding of aerospace quality systems and requirements.Experience in SPC and GD& T.Experience with production floor automation, inclusive of robots and process automation.ERP experience, Epicor preferred.Nickel platingTIG welding3D printingChemical handlingAS9100Acme Aerospace Inc.
