Lead Hardware Engineer – Radar System & Hardware

Use your advanced knowledge of hardware engineering fundamentals to help Honeywell Aerospace deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

You will work with limited supervision and alongside some of the world’s most talented engineers.

You will contribute to the development of Honeywell’s TCAS, Transponder, Integrated Surveillance System products by designing, testing and validating products from prototype to market.

You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of engineering projects and programs.
Key Responsibilities

• Own the product in terms of field performance, failures and usage

• Perform design specification and verification review

• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment

• Track problem reports to closure

• Plan and execute project subtasks (designing, testing, etc)

• Assist in product and process certification for customer acceptance

• Guide engineers, technicians and associates to ensure project and product compliance

• Present to leadership and external customers

• Consult with vendors and suppliers to ensure product and project compliance

• Identify opportunities and propose technical improvements by applying advanced electrical engineering knowledge and principles

• Suggest enhancements to advance projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

• 10+ years of experience leading in hardware development, electrical or system level engineering

• 5+ years of hands on experience working in a lab environment troubleshooting, designing or updating circuit cards and schematic capture

• Deep understanding of a variety of hardware engineering standards and specifications, especially DO-254 and DO-160

• Knowledge of TCAS, Transponder, Integrated Surveillance Systems products

• Excellent computer literacy

• Ability to focus on important information and identify key details

• Ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions

• Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a variety of audiences

• Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts

• Willingness to consistently take the initiative to get things done

• Flexibility to work across global time zones

• Ability to travel internationally for short periods if needed
