Competitive hourly rate and benefits.POSITION SUMMARYThe purpose of this position is to provide general nursing care and leadership, working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members. The RN will promote and restore patient?s health as they provide, delegate, evaluate and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care through the use of the nursing process for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and background; provide physical and psychosocial support to patients, friends, and families. This individual may oversee clinical care of other personnel including CNA’s, paramedics and unit clerks.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and evaluate the patient?s plan of care. Coordinates patient care with other team members, implements care in a knowledgeable and skillful manner, as evidenced by team feedback.2. Evaluates effectiveness of care given by self and other health care team members, systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patient towards outcomes. Utilizes the nursing process to compare patient response with observable outcomes which are specified in the plan of care as evidenced by documentation.3. Identifies initial and ongoing patient/family/significant other?s education as an integral part of care and implements appropriate measures to meet these as evidenced by documentation.4. Initiates discharge planning based upon admission assessment, makes appropriate referrals, and monitors patient/family/significant other?s progress and readiness for discharge, collaborating with health team members as appropriate. Performs assessments focusing on the physical and psycho-social health status of the patient in an ongoing, timely, and systematic manner as evidenced by documentation. Participates in formulating the outcomes based on the plan of care which is prioritized by nursing.5. Performs concise, accurate, and legible documentation according to standards designated for pertinent circumstances as evidenced by documentation.6. Provides a safe, clean, comfortable environment for patients. Identifies and reports potential and active environmental safety hazards.7. Direct or supervise other nursing staff or healthcare personnel.8. Attends at least 75% of staff meetings; remains accountable forcontent of missed staff meetings. Attends all mandatory in-services.9. Displays flexibility in scheduling to meet staffing needs of the hospital.10. Works in various clinical departments, where qualified and competent, depending on the needs of the hospital.11. Works every other weekend as dictated by patient acuity/census and staffing needs.12. Provides nursing care that meets the physical, spiritual, and social needs of patients and their families.13. Adheres to all Infection Control policies and practices, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, isolation precautions, and healthcare worker immunizations.14. Strives to gain additional knowledge and skills, including certifications.15. Administers medication accurately and per physician?s order.16. Knowledgeable in the use of specialized equipment, treatment procedures, policies, practices, and standards of clinical area.17. Maintains harmonious relationship with other departments and co-workers, providing support and assistance to co-workers across units to ensure quality patient care.18. Maintains patient confidentiality and does not discuss patient in public areas such as cafeteria, hallways, parking lots or loudly so others can hear.19. Demonstrates ability to lift, transfer and transport patients in wheelchair, bed or stretcher utilizing appropriate transfer device.20. Reduces the risks of accidental injury or exposure by following established safety guidelines.CHARGE NURSE DUTIES1. Makes shift assignments according to patient acuity. Ensures completion of all assignments and meal and break times.2. Evaluates acuities for the need of appropriate staffing; replaces nursing staff unable to report for duty.3. Monitors adequate stock, crash carts, narcotic counts, and security in the pharmacy when the pharmacist is not in the facility.4. Evaluates employee infractions and notifies the appropriate personnel.ORGANIZATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY1. Participates in and supports Performance Improvement Programs.2. Adheres to policies and procedures, and Corporate Compliance Policy of Benson Hospital.3. Maintains complete confidentiality of all medical, financial, employee, computer, or other sensitive material which may jeopardize the privacy of others.4. Active Arizona RN License2. ADN Minimum Education3. BSN Preferred Education4. 1 year in hospital setting ? Preferred Experience5. Current AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS Certification requiredSKILLSAnswer Telephones, Electronic Health Record Documentation, Legible Documentation, Critical Thinking, Clinical Skills, Written and Verbal Communication. Machines: Diagnostic Equipment, EKG, Cardiac Monitors, Glucometer, Kangaroo Pump, Facsimile and Copier, Agilia IV pumps, IMED, Zoll Defibrillator, Hoyer Lift, Sit to Stand, CPM Machine*Position located in Benson, AZ*?$5,000 Sign On Bonus available (with one year commitment). Experience requirementsMinimum of 1 year experience in a hospital setting. Prefer Med Surg and ED/ER experience. Work hours12 hour shifts; 36 hours weekly
