Instructional Designer

This is a Full-time position in Phoenix, AZ posted May 12, 2022.

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: As a key member of the Learning and Development team, the Instructional Designer will play a critical role in supporting the continual improvement of Knight’s organizational performance through the best practice use of technology and instructional design.

This position is responsible for partnering with business units to determine needs as they relate to both current and future state learning interventions and developing and designing content that strengthens capabilities for both technical and soft skill areas of focus.

Specifically, the Instructional Designer is responsible for developing and creating learning solutions that drive measurable impact to the business and align to the organization’s strategic direction.

In addition, this role will be responsible for developing learning solutions that take into consideration different areas of our business (Non-Drivers, Drivers, Field Sales, etc.).Provide recommendations with the design and development of learning solutions and programs throughout the organization to promote effective learning opportunities that support the achievement of organizational goals.Manage multiple priorities and projects that may overlap with each other based on need and resources.Develop a working knowledge of all aspects of the business and industry, drawing on the professional expertise of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), leadership, and stakeholders for content development.Document project storyboards and wireframes for versioning.Develop tools and materials, such as eLearning modules, handbooks, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, knowledge assessments, etc.

to ensure the most effective method is utilized for knowledge delivery and learning transfer.Create project implementation plans for programs, ensuring content is engaging, learner-centric and sustainable.Create content with a focus on measurable organizational impact.Select and assists in evaluation strategies to evaluate program and content effectiveness and impact.Update and modify existing course materials based on best practices, policies or regulation updates, or for continuous improvement purposes.Maintain an understanding of the key business objectives, metrics and strategic plans of the department and the organization.Foster collaboration with the team by contributing to the work of peers, sharing resources, best practices, and innovations as well as giving and receiving feedback.Provide assistance with quality checks and standards of delivery for other content creators.Other duties as assigned by leadership.Skills: Must possess outstanding written and oral communication skills and able to interface with all levels within the organization., including senior level executives.

Must be able to flex and adapt to change in a fast-paced team environment.

Must be able to create, maintain and update standard work process documentation.

Must be able to provide guidance and leadership of on the job training with team members.

Must be able to prepare and deliver compelling arguments and presentations that influences others and successfully builds coalitions for key initiatives.

Must be able to travel as needed.Education: Bachelor Degree in related field or equivalent education and experience required.

Major in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Education, Organizational Development, Business preferred.Experience Required: Minimum 3 to 4 years of learning and development, instructional design, and eLearning technologies experience; required.

Prior experience in eLearning development and course building experience using various graphic design and authoring tools (e.G., Articulate360, Rise 360, Camtasia, SnagIt, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc.); required.

Prior experience with learning management systems and various learning delivery modalities, such as self-paced learning, mobile learning, instructor-led learning, asynchronous and synchronous e-learning, and blended learning; required.

Experience with instructional design project management tools and graphic design experience preferred.KHC123
