Your OpportunityWealth Management Consultants play a critical role in enhancing the branch network’s client engagement skills.

The Wealth Management Consultants (WMCs) primary role is developing branch employees through coaching and consulting to promote Schwab’s Modern Wealth Management experience.

WMCs influence branch employees through targeted coaching and development in 5 areas of focus:Improving efficiency and the effectivenessEnhancing client interactions and engagement skillsHighlighting how to bring to bear financial planning concepts, tools and dialogue adeptlyShowcasing appropriate wealth management strategies and solutions for various client scenariosPromoting a consistent adoption of Schwab’s practice management standardsFollowing a consultative process, the WMC determines and implements effective strategies/tactics which enhance consultant skill development, enhance client outcomes and accelerate market growth and retention.

The WMC is passionate about helping branch employees build their business by influencing and encouraging meaningful change and growth.

This role serves members of our phone based sales/relationship teams.The WMC also works closely with internal partners (investment solutions, banking and insurance), as well as serving as a key regional liaison for Schwab’s internal and external comprehensive wealth management solutions offerings.What you are good atPrimary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Work with senior leaders in supported group(s) to identify needs and key focus areas.

Then map out and execute on an impactful strategy to enhance consultant skillsCollaborate and coordinate with line leaders to create a customized strategy focusing on employee development Encouraging the growth and development of our consultants and impacting them to become effective, proficient and efficient consultants through Schwab’s sales processBe a subject matter expert on a broad range of financial planning and wealth management solutions, teaching consultants how to effectively deliver impactful outcomes for clientsHelp consultants better run their practice through effective engagement activitiesInspire consultants to successfully manage and grow the opportunities in their pipeline Coordinate with branch employees on effective organic business development activitiesConduct a high frequency of development activities including, employee 1:1s, branch/team meetings, regional/group meetings, partner meetings, sales huddles and training sessions.Be the key partner and resource to the group/region in coordinating speakers for, and/or acting as a keynote speaker for a variety of client and prospect workshops/events.Foster, build and sustain exceptional working relationships with key partners (Market Executives, Branch Managers, Independent Branch Leaders, Acquisition Delivery, etc.), as well as the many internal specialty partner groups (Fixed Income, ThomasPartners®, Windhaven®, Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, Insurance & Annuities, Trading Solutions, Schwab Bank, etc.) to find opportunities to support growth and promote retentionWork with Advisor Services/third party advisors to support Schwab Advisor Network (SAN) growth/retentionPartner with Schwab Private Client leadership to find opportunities to drive growth and promote retentionResponsibilities will also include providing ongoing, relevant “field” feedback and insight into all product marketing and distribution issues to client experience and product management groups.Proactively engage to support the introduction of new advisory products, services, and tools.

What you haveBachelor’s degree requiredA valid and active Series 7 license A valid and active Series 66 (63/65) Industry certifications (CFP/ CIMA/CFA/CWS) preferred.Demonstrated skills in sales education, business development tactics, and public speaking.Typically a minimum of 10 years in the financial services industry with 5+ years’ experience in an investment management or sales management role.Past experience in Financial Planning experience is preferredDemonstrated effectiveness as a coachMust possess excellent communication skills, including client facing and senior management level presentationsAbility to partner with others to create tangible impactful business plansAdditionally, candidate must possess exceptional written communication, organizational, and time management skills.Requires ability to influence others, teach general sales skills and deliver specific product and technical knowledge.Strong customer focus, including ability to think in terms of customer experience/perspective.Solid knowledge of Schwab organizational and business development procedures.Strong interpersonal and relationship skills.

Ability to establish rapport with and influence Schwab colleaguesProven track record to communicate and implement a clear, focused business development strategy for area/group.Excellent working knowledge of Schwab Advice and understanding of Schwab’s visions and values.Ability to influence and achieve objectives without direct authority or direct reporting relationships.A strong understanding and grasp of the competitive landscape in the financial services industry and the variety of fee-based product platforms.Aptitude to engage and manage relationships with third parties (relationship management)Proven ability to work in a team environment.

The position will not have any direct reports, but will interact frequently with other Regional Wealth Management Consultants.This is a summary only and duties and responsibilities may be changed from time to time, or over time.
