Under general direction, the Treasury and Payment Solutions National Manager will be responsible for managing the Treasury Management and Payment Solutions Sales Analysts Support Specialists and Account Management teams.

The National Sales Manager provides mentoring, training and leadership to all payments teams and the markets they support.

This position is also responsible for working with the sales teams and markets to develop and implement strategies, sales tools and training to expand and deepen existing relationships; and grow deposits and non-interest income through new relationships.

This position will ensure that the Sales, Analysts, Support Specialists and Account Management teams deliver an outstanding client experience through consultative sales, seamless onboarding, and ongoing client service.

PRIMARY & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    TM/PS Sales Results Management
Lead, mentor and coach TM/PCS Sales Teams at member banks for consistently improving results.

 Responsible for exceeding sales goals within each market.

 Develop goals with market leaders, track/report actual results, use CRM tool to help lift results, host weekly sales huddle, lead/participate in new sales hiring process/decisions and develop staffing models, solve sales issues and streamline on-boarding processes with keeping an excellent customer experience in mind.

2.    Relationship Management
Ensure that TMOs and SCs have a defined prospect and ongoing relationship management process including relationship reviews, proactive client solutions assessments, and working with bankers to expand client relationships.

 Liaison with TM Operations to ensure that we are delivering a premier client experience with new accounts and implementation.

3.    Communications and Teamwork
Works closely with member banks including their leadership to create a positive working relationship and effective cohesive results.

4.    Complex Sales Support
Provide support to Bankers and TMOs/SCs on identifying solutions, structure and pricing for complex clients and prospects.

Act as the “top gun” expert in complex needs assessment and become an extension of the banks sales team calling regularly on top client and prospects.

 Work closely with TM Support in service design of new capabilities required to close new business.

5.    Training
Coordinate core curriculum/on-boarding training for new TM sales people hired in conjunction with the member banks.

Work with Product Team and TM support to roll out new products training as part of a change management process.

Create and deliver TM Sales training for commercial/business bankers to have when they are hired, host refresher courses throughout year and develop training on new product deliverables. 
6.    Sales and Marketing
Identify more efficient sales processes to deliver better results, free up sales people to focus more on prospects and customers rather than being tied down with operational projects, paperwork, risk reviews, etc.

 This role works closely with TM Support to streamline process flow, establishing regular feedback sessions (to give and receive feedback) with the spirit to improve.

 Work with Marketing to develop marketing deliverables and sales campaigns for the TMOs and Solution Consultants.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1.    Directly supervises Treasury Management and Payment Solutions Sales, Analysts and Account Management teams.
2.    Lead, coach, develop and retain high-performance team with an emphasis on consultative sales process, self-sourcing deals, and building effective partnerships with Bankers and other internal partners. 
3.    Strong matrix management skills required.
4.    Works with Heartland Financials recruitment team to hire the most qualified and talented individuals to fill open positions.
5.    Provides information and on-going feedback to department staff regarding expectations and performance.
6.    Addresses and resolves all performance concerns and issues in a timely manner. 
7.    Works with department staff on individual professional development.
8.    Prepares and conducts annual performance reviews.

 Completes and submits all forms associated with the review process to the department according to the review process deadline

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
1.    A minimum of 10 years of treasury management sales and product management experience to  include:
a.    Corporate cashflow as it relates to the customer’s receivables and payables considering the effects of seasonality.
b.    US Payment Systems and good understanding of International Payment instruments.
c.    Current regulatory compliance issues relating to Treasury Management products.
2.    3-5 years of management experience to include building teams through in a matrix management environment. 
3.    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field or equivalent experience required. 
4.    Understanding of and ability to manage risks of Treasury Management products, including Operational Risk, Credit Risk, and Financial Risk.
5.    Up to date understanding of changing technology in the treasury management industry.
6.    Experience understanding customer needs, across corporations, small businesses, and sole proprietorships/partnerships types of users.
7.    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8.    Experience training others of complex products and services to point our value proposition, feature and benefits.
9.    General understanding of commercial credit policy.
10.    Strong working knowledge within the banking industry, treasury operations, accounting and corresponding banking.
11.    Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

In-depth knowledge of product/project management practices is required.
