Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) provides financial services to 21 million retail bank households and three million small business customers through approximately 4,900 retail branches, 17 customer service centers, and approximately 13,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia. We serve and help individuals and families in many aspects of their lives, helping them buy homes, open first bank and savings accounts, buy cars to get to and from work or school, and start or grow small businesses. CSBB is focused on innovating and transforming with the customer at the center, better enabling customers to engage with us how, when, and wherever they choose. As an industry leader in many consumer and small business areas – including retail deposits, debit card transaction and purchase volume, and small business lending – our primary goal is delivering for our customers.

CSBB Control Management serves as the front line of risk management and is primarily responsible for ensuring effective front-line risk identification, measurement, monitoring, controls, and mitigation for the CSBB businesses. This team works to ensure internal controls, processes, and procedures are adequate and effective, and executive management understands the risks, exposures, and trends that impact the business. The group also collaborates on projects and initiatives by providing support and awareness of risks and mitigating control solutions.

The Business Initiatives Consultant 3 is responsible for providing cross-functional support for the Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) Operations Control team.  

Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Supervise and support various weekly and monthly reporting activities, along with ad hoc requests
• Develop senior leader presentations to support on-going business and strategic efforts
• Provide project support for strategic initiatives
• Manage CSBB Operations Control procedures, partnering with control leaders on opportunities for enhancement
• Maintain CSBB Operations Control Business Continuity Plans
• Partner on required business process and risk and control self-assessment activities as necessary

Please Note: Candidate(s) will be required to work at the following Wells Fargo location: Charlotte, NC; West Des Moines, IA; Chandler, AZ; Minneapolis, MN; Irving, TX. 

Position is currently remote; however, candidate(s) will be required to work on site when Wells Fargo returns to standard operating model.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and SharePoint) skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Experience conducting meetings, presentations and status reporting

Other Desired Qualifications

• Significant experience authoring compelling executive level communications; emphasis on written materials.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, meeting tight deadlines, independently and as part of a team
• Execution oriented, professional demeanor, self-starter behavior and able to recognize opportunities for improvement and to act on those opportunities
• Able to synthesize material from multiple sources (e.g., presentations, SharePoint sites, regulatory materials, etc.) to create logically structured content that clearly communicates the intended topic to a wide range of audiences
• Experience with the Shared Risk Assessment Platform (SHRP)
